Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya has appointed Dr. Mohan Chandra Kalita as its new Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Kalita a retired professor from the Department of Biotechnology at Gauhati University, received his appointment letter from the university’s Chancellor, Guru Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu of Krishnaguru Sewashram in this morning.
The appointment was marked by a formal ceremony at the university’s permanent auditorium, where Dr. Kalita was welcomed with traditional Assamese hospitality, including a brass platter and a fulam gamosa (traditional Assamese scarf). The university community, including faculty, staff and students, gathered to greet the new Vice-Chancellor.
Dr. Kalita, a renowned scientist and researcher, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for his new role. His appointment follows the recent induction of Dr. Mukunda Sharma, a distinguished educationist and retired principal of Bhawanipur Ancholik College, as the new Registrar of the university who joined on 10 July’ 2024. Dr. Sharma was also welcomed during today’s ceremony.
The event was attended by prominent members of the university, including Dr. Narayan Chandra Baruah, Principal of Krishnaguru College of Science and Technology; Barnali Bardoloi, Principal of the Nursing Institute; along with all officials, professors, teaching & non teaching staff and students of Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya.
