Admission Process
Admissions to the Ph.D. program at KAV will be conducted through the KAV-RET (Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya-Research Entrance Test). The test dates and details will be announced in due course.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must meet the following criteria:
– A candidate must have completed a 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree program (after a 4-year undergraduate degree) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale.
– Alternatively, a candidate may have completed a 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree program (after a 3-year undergraduate degree) with the same conditions.
– A candidate with a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree must have at least 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories as per the Commission’s decision.
Entrance Test and Interview
Candidates must score a minimum of 50% in the KAV-RET to be eligible for the interview.
The final decision on the number of eligible candidates will be made by the university based on seat availability.
Modes of Study
Candidates can opt for Full-time or Part-time Ph.D. programs.
The duration of the Ph.D. program is a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years. Extensions up to eight years may be granted under special circumstances as per UGC norms.
Reservation Criteria
A relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent grade will be allowed for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled/EWS and other categories as per the Commission’s regulations.
