“More planting a seedling would not suffice, it has to be taken care of” – Kuntala Patowary Goshwami .
Equally with different parts of the country, World Environment Day was celebrated in The KRISHNAGURU ADHYATMIK VISHVAVIDLAYA of Nasatra on 5th of June. Educational Institutions under the KRISHNAGURU Educational Council, viz KRISHNAGURU ADHYATMIK VISHVAVIDLAYA, KRISHNAGURU MAHAVIDLAYA, KRISHNAGURU SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE and KRISHNAGURU VIDYAJYOTI VIDYALAYA have observed the day long World Environment Day programme.
After completing the cleanliness drive in compounds of every educational institutions, plantation of more than one hundred and fifty varied breeds of seedlings was successfully carried out in compound of the University.
The plantation drive began after The GURU OF KRISHNAGURU SEWASHRAM SRI GURU PREMANANDA PRABHU had sowed the first seedling in the morning.
In continuity with the orientation of Environment Day, a awareness event was organised in the auditorium of the University at 11 am that day. The event was attended by Dr. Tarun Ch Bora (Vice Chancellor, KAV), Dr. Kamala Kanta Dutta (Registrar, KAV), Dr. Narayan Ch Baruah (Principal, KSTI), Barnali Bardoloi ( Principal, INE, KAV) and all the students.
After plantation, addressing the inaugural speech of the event and with special emphasis to the students, Kuntala Patowary Goshwami opined that mere planting a seedling would not suffice untill we nurture it well . Further She added that on that day lakhs of seedlings were brought from different parts to be planted and if no proper care is tendered to and adequate discussions are not held over them then all of them would languish. In a nutshell , on that day thus we would resort to spoiling of the seedling let alone expecting a life giving tree. So, each of us who has planted a seedling should bear the responsibility of nurturing that seedling. Finally She said that in order for us to have a pollution free world , we need to forsake use of plastic.
