The 6th foundation day celebration of Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya at Nasatra had started on 3rd of August, 2023 with the hoisting of the University flag by the Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. D. C. Baishya, at its premises followed by other programmes. The University was inaugurated away back on 3rd August, 2017 by Sri Sarbananda Sonowal, the then Chief Minister, Assam. On this day of formal ceremonial inauguration he expressed his happiness at the establishment of University and praised the Krishnaguru Sewashram community for spreading the religious ideals of Paramguru Krishnaguru Prabhu Ishwar by teaching and propagating the faith on Krishnaguru EKA-NAM-DHARMA. It is the sixth private university in the state of Assam that came into existence in 2017 at a modest and peaceful premises of Krishnaguru Sewashram, Nasatra. The area offers a perfect backdrop for a truly academic atmosphere which is far from the madding crowd of urban life. With the blessings of His Holiness Paramguru Krishnaguru Ishwar, along with gracious esteemed guru Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu and the revered Bhakti Matri Kuntala Patowary Aai, the humble efforts of founder, well-wishers and the devotees in the last several decades are trying to walk a long way to establish a Spiritual University that would be placed among the much sought after institutions of higher learning.
The University has completed six years of its initial journey on 3rd of August, 2023 and aims to continue its mission to strengthen the education services to the society in general and particularly to the students who have been deprived of the academic curriculum with spiritual background due to various constraints. Since its inception, the stakeholders of the organisation is spreading the essence of spiritual knowledge through educational institutions and other welfare schemes and become the leading socio-religious organization and it has been rendering valuable upliftment amongst various ethnic groups by preserving the rich ethnic, cultural and linguistic diversity of the North-East.
Currently the University has introduced UG to Ph.D. programme in several disciplines of Arts, Science & Commerce along with professional courses like B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, BPT and skill training. Thus, the University with its constituent schools have the unique distinction of being spiritual, secular and cosmopolitan centre of education where qualified and committed teachers interact with students from different parts of North-East and outside the state aiming to create a dynamic environment for all round growth.
The significance of today’s celebration of foundation day was elucidated during a meeting organized by the teaching staff, students and other from constituent institutions under the University where Sri Ranjit Kumar Das, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Govt. of Assam was the Chief Guest. Sri Das underlined the necessity of the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) in Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya, Nasatra with the aim to impart value based quality education in order to achieve holistic development in the society.
